Ali Kamal Daud
Founder and Chairman Emeritus
Ali Daud is a seasoned business leader and entrepreneur whose career spans more than three decades of building businesses and bringing leading international brands into Oman and the wider region. As Chairman & CEO of Daud Enterprises and a family partner of the Daud Group of Companies, he oversees a diversified portfolio spanning distribution, real estate development, construction, retail, food and beverage, building supplies, oil & gas services, holdings and investments across Oman and the GCC.
Over the course of his career, Ali and the Daud family businesses have represented an extraordinary range of globally recognized companies and brands across Oman and the wider region. These have included PepsiCo and General Motors, Mcdonalds and Hamleys.
His experience in international franchising and consumer brands is equally extensive. Across markets in the region, the group’s portfolio has included franchise ownership and operations for Hard Rock Cafe, California Pizza Kitchen, Panda Express, Texas de Brazil, Trader Vic’s, Pinkberry, YO! Sushi, and BrewDog, alongside luxury and lifestyle names including Oscar de la Renta, Marchesa, House of Fraser, Villeroy & Boch and hansgrohe.
Ali’s impact extends well beyond commercial enterprise. Among his most significant contributions is Salwa Health Rehabilitation and Detoxification Center, established through Oman’s first public-private partnership in the health sector. The pioneering initiative introduced a new model of specialized care to the Sultanate and reflects his commitment to investing in projects of lasting national and social significance.
Educated at the prestigious Aiglon College in Switzerland, Ali later earned his Bachelor of Arts from New York University in 1988. His international education, combined with decades spent building and operating businesses across Oman and the region, has given him a strong understanding of both international business and how business is done in Oman and the wider GCC.
His experience has also been called upon in service to Oman. He has served on national bodies supporting Omanisation, hospitality and tourism, including the Oman Tourism Board, and holds the distinguished position of Honorary Consul of Canada in the Sultanate of Oman.
Ali has also played a defining role in strengthening U.S.–Oman commercial relations. As Founder, President, and Chairman Emeritus of AmCham Oman—the official affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in the Sultanate—he has spent more than 23 years building the organization into an enduring platform for business engagement between the two countries.
From his early education at one of Europe’s top boarding schools to more than three decades of leadership in Oman and the region, Ali has built a career that bridges markets and cultures. From Muscat to Manhattan, his career reflects a deep understanding of the region alongside decades of international business experience.
