About the Committee
The AmCham Oman Technology & AI Committee serves as a collaborative platform bringing together leaders from across Oman's technology ecosystem to strengthen industry dialogue, support public-private collaboration, and develop practical initiatives that contribute to the Sultanate's digital transformation agenda.
Operating under the guidance of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT), the Committee brings together representatives from leading technology companies, government entities, startups, SMEs, academia, and the wider innovation ecosystem to identify opportunities, address industry challenges, and deliver initiatives that create measurable impact.

The Committee is built on a simple philosophy:
ALIGNMENT | ACTION | IMPACT
Its focus extends beyond discussion to developing practical initiatives, workforce development programs, industry research, and strategic collaboration that support Oman Vision 2040.

2026 Committee Achievements
During its inaugural year, the Committee focused on building a strong foundation for long-term collaboration between industry, government, and academia.
Tech Talks
The Committee established quarterly executive dialogue sessions with H.E. Dr. Ali Al Shidhani, Undersecretary at MTCIT, providing a platform to present committee progress, discuss industry priorities, and identify opportunities for collaboration between government and the private sector.
Workforce Development
Committee members advanced a number of workforce development initiatives focused on preparing Omani talent for careers in technology. These initiatives include AI training, cybersecurity education, professional certifications, graduate readiness, recruitment opportunities, and employer-led learning programs delivered by committee members and their organizations.
Numo USA
Following discussions with MTCIT and ecosystem stakeholders, the Committee developed Numo USA, an initiative designed to support high-potential Omani technology startups and SMEs as they prepare for international growth and access to the U.S. market.
Industry Research
The Committee launched one of its first major research initiatives focused on understanding the knowledge, skills, and competencies technology employers expect from graduates entering the workforce. The findings will contribute to a Technology Workforce Readiness Report, providing practical recommendations to strengthen alignment between academia, industry, and workforce development initiatives.
Government & Ecosystem Engagement
Throughout the year, the Committee worked closely with MTCIT, Riyada, technology companies, universities, and other ecosystem partners to ensure committee initiatives complemented existing national priorities while creating new opportunities for collaboration.

Looking Ahead
The Committee will continue expanding its work through industry-led initiatives, workforce development programs, research, executive dialogue, and strategic partnerships that support Oman's digital economy and strengthen collaboration between Oman and the United States.
