Put the U.S.–Oman FTA to Work for Your Business

Businesses can use the U.S.–Oman FTA to explore opportunities to export Omani products to the United States and source from American suppliers. To get started, review the eligibility requirements and rules of origin, then contact AmCham Oman’s Trade & Investment Department for relevant resources and guidance on next steps. In December 2024, marking the FTA's 15th anniversary, AmCham Oman launched a 24-page FTA Guide. It draws on trade statistics contributed directly by the U.S. Trade Representative's Office and on groundwork laid by AmCham Jordan's US Embassy-sponsored Spotlight program.

Spotlight on the U.S.-Oman FTA

Funded by a grant from the U.S. Embassy in Muscat, Spotlight on the U.S.-Oman FTA is AmCham Oman's dedicated awareness and training program built around the FTA. It includes:

• An Export Readiness Assessment survey, used to identify companies ready for deeper support.

• A five-part interactive webinar series covering the FTA itself, rules of origin, sanitary and technical trade barriers, exporting to the US, and sourcing from the US.

• A two-day, invitation-only in-person export training workshop for Oman-based executives, delivered with AmCham Jordan's trade experts and including an export readiness audit.

Real Businesses, Real Impact

AmCham Oman has recorded and published video interviews with Omani and American companies who have actually used the FTA to grow: not hypothetical case studies, but the businesses in our own member network describing what changed for them.

Strategic Relationships That Drive Results

AmCham Oman's FTA work isn't built in isolation. We maintain direct working relationships with the U.S. Embassy in Muscat, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, the Oman Chamber of Commerce, U.S. EXIM Bank, and CIPE Bahrain's Economic Diversification and Access to Finance project, the same network that makes it possible to bring accurate trade statistics, trained facilitators, and funded programming to Omani and American businesses at no cost to them.

Where this fits: The United States-Oman Joint Committee, the body that oversees the FTA's implementation, reconvened in 2024 after a 12-year hiatus specifically to find ways to better leverage the agreement. AmCham Oman is the organization on the ground translating that renewed momentum into services companies can actually use.
