The morning session featured a presentation from the U.S. Embassy Muscat Consular Section offering guidance on U.S. Business Visa services, with detailed explanations of each step and attendee questions addressed. The OABC team also presented the history of the US-Oman FTA, its key provisions, success stories from Omani exporters, and an overview of OABC's trade services, including the Export Compass and Gateway USA programs.
A significant focus centered on untapped potential and ways Omani companies could leverage the U.S.-Oman Free Trade Agreement—one of only four such agreements in the entire MENA region. The discussion highlighted opportunities for creating more favorable conditions for Omani exports and potential growth in exporting medical devices and produce from Dhofar to the U.S. market.
Rebecca Olson, CEO of OABC, stated: "We are delighted with the strong interest shown by the business" community and thanked OCCI leadership for their collaboration, noting enthusiasm among exporters for leveraging the FTA remains evident.
The event attracted diverse business leaders and entrepreneurs from Dhofar eager to learn practical strategies for accessing the U.S. market and available support from OABC.
